Graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design
with a BFA in sculpture and a passion for making things
1989
Opened a small industrial design consultancy in
NYC called ABLE. Worked on projects with clients from
Coca-Cola to Sony, Johnson & Johnson to Alessi.
1999
Became interested in the intersection of the physical
and virtual. Veered off into technology design.
2000
Moved to San Francisco and deeper into technology.
2005
Missed making things. Couldn’t find the right shoes.
2007
Went to Italy to learn how to make shoes.
2008
Launched Martha Davis Shoes.
